Childhood Memories from the Fifties:
St. Charles, Lee County, Virginia




In 1947 I was blessed by being born in God’s Country, Lee County, Virginia. In 1958 my father lost his job when the Blue Diamond Coal Company ceased operations. Like so many other families, we had to leave Lee County because there was no work.

Many thanks to my childhood classmate Norma for allowing me to share my “Childhood Memories from the Fifties” of growing up in St. Charles, Virginia in the fifties.
